* A Brand New Day *

My basket is brimming with happy cliché's ~
I've waited so long for its coming!
Counting off minutes of so many days,
And sure that the clock had stopped running.

Yet hidden inside I kept holding on
to gifts God and my angels had given me ~
A promise of love to help bring me along,
and the good that is coming to me.

The old ways of thinking are falling away
as new patterns move into their place.
I'm stepping out of the pain that I wore
and putting a smile on my face!

I'm always returning to basics it seems ~
To eat well, to rest, and to breathe!
To live by the moment, embracing what's new
And stand firmly on what I believe.

Ah, Springtime - so juicy - so fresh and piquant!
The blossoms of life all around!
I can smell colors, and feel Mother Earth
as I wiggle my toes on the ground.

It was a long winter, but what's that to me?
I broke through that smelly cocoon!
This little worm's squeezing onto the leaves ~
I'll be fluttering all over the place soon!
