She walked the earth in beauty,
A vision from a dream.
Her presence made you feel as though
You held your own sunbeam.

Her skin was soft as peaches,
Her color light as cream.
And words could not describe the fire
That through her eyes would gleam!

She had the voice of angels
Who comfort you at night.
She'd sing you softly into sleep
and all the world seemed right.

No one could ever harm you
If she was standing by.
With just a look she broke you down;
You couldn't help but cry!

The neighbors in her village
All spoke of her the same.
Their faces smiled from ear to ear
While mentioning her name.

She walked with steady footing,
Her mind was bright and clear.
Her head held high with dignity,
And yet she was so dear.

Her family was her treasure,
Her home was always clean.
Devoted mother, faithful wife,
Her love was everything.

Our family life was simple;
The work was never done.
But at the end of every day
She held and kissed each one.

We never thought of praying
For God to keep her here.
Who could have known her fragile life
Would find it's end so near?

She left this earth a lady
And though she may be gone,
Her vision stays within our hearts;
Her beauty still lives on.

She never really left you, Dad,
Although your heart must ache.
She follows you through all your years
and guides the steps you take.

So please don't feel so lonely
with grandma up above.
'Cause we believe she's very close,
Still giving you her love.

Dedicated to my father, who was just a babe
when his dear mother departed this earth.

.A Note to  Dad:  Be happy that your mother was a beautiful woman and her memory is so precious.  We share your grief of abandonment, but we know it was for your "greater good" that your life began with such a loss.  And now we will do all we can to make your sunset years as happy as they can be!

With love always, from Dianne
